The Director of Data Management is responsible for the design and development of hardware/software systems and tools for mastering and providing data quality to downstream systems and the CHRISTUS EDW; provides oversight of the Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality systems ensuring the highest quality of data is available for analytics; assists in managing budgets and contracts; works with consumers of data to delivering high quality data for all downstream systems; supports the business goals and objectives for the CHRISTUS organization as a whole. This position will work closely with the Director of Technical Integration and Program Manager, Data Governance to provide data for interoperability that has high quality standards and mastered to the CHRISTUS data standard. This position will also ensure appropriately skilled resources are available to satisfy the current demand for data delivery.
Master Data Management - Leads in the planning and development of new and existing MDM domains and solutions including assuring that data stewards are trained and understand the roles within the overall MDM strategy. Work closely with the Director of Technical Integration to provide agile and solid solutions for quality data mastered to CHRISTUS standards.
CHRISTUS Data Standards -- Determine mapping proposal for all data flowing outbound that can be mapped and mastered to an overall CHRISTUS data standard no matter the source of data.
Solutions Oriented -- Demonstrate a solutions-oriented approach in delivering support services by understanding the services offered within CHRISTUS Health
Vision & Strategy -- Develop vision and strategy for a MDM program that meets all data needs for CHRISTUS Health.
Planning & Managing - Plan, prioritize, manage and schedule projects and routine requests to insure all data flowing externally or to the CHRISTUS EDW has data quality standards and has been mastered. Assign appropriate resources to meet approved corporate and regional schedules and goals. Develop and implement effective written mechanisms to document and report on all plans, priorities, schedules and the current status of all projects and assignments. Assist with the development, implementation, communication and promotion of strategic and tactical plans.
Budget & Financial Management - Develop and manage detailed budgets, tracking all capital and operational expenditures and regularly reporting the budgetary status of all assigned project budgets including hardware, software and support components.
Staff Management - Recruit, train, motivate, evaluate, and retain a staff of highly skilled information systems professionals. Terminate staff as required. Provide ongoing leadership and motivation to ensure that the staff is focused committed and capable of producing expected results. Create and maintain a teamwork environment conducive to productive output, successful staff advancement and a rewarding work experience. Establish and enforce department policies, procedures and standards.
Applications and Systems Development - Interface with and support staff in all areas and at all levels in the definition of requirements, selection, design, development, implementation, and support of information systems. Provide technical oversight of system architectural development and technical guidance on problem definition and resolution
Communication - Provide effective oral and written communications to staff to facilitate understanding, ownership and accomplishment of project goals and objectives. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, possess good negotiating skills and promote teamwork among subordinates.
Teamwork -- This position is a member of the Data Management Leadership Team and is required to participate with all team members building a culture of sharing, caring, and cooperation.
Customer Service - Lead in the development and administration of an effective Customer Service Plan which includes provisions to insure that information needs are met within the organization.
Other - Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the System Director, Business Intelligence.
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Business or related field.
An advanced Information Systems or Business degree will be considered an asset
Three to five (3-5) years of progressively more responsible experience in either a large Healthcare or Payer environment
Seven to ten (7-10) combined year's of experience in at least two of the following fields:
