Atlantic General Hospital is searching for a Vice President, Medical Affairs. This is a wonderful opportunity to provide leadership at a community hospital, and be part of the positive influence we strive to make for our patients. As a senior-level executive of Atlantic General, reporting to the President/CEO, the Vice President, Medical Affairs will provide physician leadership to our Senior Leadership Team and Board of Trustees, and administrative leadership to the Medical Staff in partnership with the Chief of Staff. The successful candidate will be a physician who demonstrates the ability to provide positive influence to the Medical Staff to gain alignment with and support of the hospital’s vision, mission, values and strategic plan. The successful candidate is someone who can develop and maintain positive physician relationships with both independent physicians and our employed multi-specialty group. He/She will be responsible for providing positive leadership in the development and implementation of proven and effective care transformation initiatives to achieve improved access to care and better coordinated care. Responsibilities also include compliance with all applicable regulations and The Joint Commission standards. Maintaining clinical skills by having a limited practice presence is required.

MD or DO degree with Board Certification in area of practice and an active Maryland license at the time of employment.
MBA, MHA or related business degree preferred.
Five years in clinical practice with at least two years in an administrative leadership position.
Training and education in Physician Leadership strongly preferred.
Knowledge of the healthcare industry, its changing landscape, and its regulatory influences, particularly those related to changes in payment methodologies.
Leadership skills, including change management, relationship building at all levels of the organization and effective communication, especially with physicians and other clinical staff.
FACHE or CPE certification preferred.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
