Provides general supervision to all employees in Environmental Services including: hiring, terminating, counseling and ensuring adequate staffing to meet the needs of the hospital. Communicates strategic goals and provides direction.
Monitors quality, trends data, patient satisfaction ratings, initiates performance improvement projects, and provides follow up to internal customers and patients, visitors and fellow employees.
Oversees all service contracts of the Environmental Services & Department.
Prepares and administers the department’s operating budget, and monitors all expenses on a daily and monthly basis. Responsible for purchasing of all supplies and equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Strong interpersonal skills required, as well as a commanding knowledge of computers, including Bed Management programs and Microsoft Office
Problem solving and decision-making: approaches problems using a methodical approach and analysis information to make well thought-out decisions
This position requires knowledge of cleaning chemicals; proper use and maintenance of power equipment, such as automatic scrubbers, carpet extractors, etc.; proper floor care; carpet textile; upholstery fabrics; wall and floor coverings; wood; and synthetic finishes.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School diploma or equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five years previous working experience in Environmental Services, Hospitality Management or a Support Services role.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Registered/Certified Executive Housekeeper (REH/CEH) preferred or
Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) preferred
