Supports service line, corporate, business development, and other market and strategic planning efforts, as well as ensuring reliable reporting, synthesis, and analysis of data. The planning analyst will create and maintain spreadsheets and databases providing analysis and interpretation of the information to customers. The planning analyst will research and analyze healthcare trends.
Key Responsibilities include: 1) Performs market analyses using demographic reporting, market sizing, and forecasting software. 2) Prepares and designs spreadsheets and maps for presentation using Microsoft Office and Maptitude. 3) Maintains integrity of all databases, to include troubleshooting measures such as identification of error elements with notification of in-house source or outside vendor. 4) Creates reports using information from internal datamart and external state comparative databases in Microsoft Access. Analyzes and interprets this information. 5) Maintains and analyzes market share spreadsheets and forecasting of data. 6) Analyzes internal data to identify issues and trends. 7) Monitors and communicates healthcare trends and current events 8) Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed. 9) Supports Director and senior analysts in preparing market, competitive, and organizational analyses.
Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of healthcare industry experience including planning, marketing, finance, operations is required.
Knowledge: Understanding of diagnosis and procedure coding and DRG payment system required. Required knowledge of health care, health care management, planning and finance. Experience with Microsoft office, including Microsoft Access required. Knowledge of and experience with data visualization software, Tableau preferred. Knowledge of and experience with healthcare planning software. Experience with mapping software.
