LOCATION:Geisinger Commonwealth School Of Medicine - Scranton
DEPARTMENT: Facilities Operations
WORK SCHEDULE: Sunday - Thursday 11pm-7:30am
WORK TYPE: Full-Time - Non-Exempt
The essential function of this position is housekeeping but it will also assist the repairmen by delivering tools and materials to the job site, help clean up job sites, and return tools and materials to the proper storage areas; assist with removing built-in fixtures and tearing down walls; collect and sort recycling and shredding; assist with painting projects; provide limited electrical services such as changing light bulbs; provide limited HVAC services such as changing filters; maintain accurate daily records of time and materials; maintain all tools and equipment in a safe and operable condition; assist other trade areas for seasonal requirements such as snow blowing, leaf raking, etc. as needed; provide assistance with security as needed; sweep sidewalks to main entrance as needed; and perform other duties as required or assigned by emergency or other operational reasons for which the employee is qualified to perform.
Works under the general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor.
This position is required to conduct business in a professional and cordial manner that will uphold the integrity and reputation of Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM). This position maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to the policies, regulations, and procedures of GCSOM.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates the ability to read, communicate effectively, perform simple mathematical calculations, measure and use of hand and power tools.
Ability to follow directions.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years maintenance experience or equivalent education and experience preferred. Current valid PA driver's license required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to push and pull carts, carry boxes and lift up to 70 pounds of material. Must be able to work from heights. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
