Supervises and directs assigned Environmental Services (EVS) personnel. Assures assignments are completed properly and in compliance with healthcare safety and sanitation regulations. Communicates with other departments to solve problems. Ensures a professional and appropriate service standard while performing the job. Follows and enforces system wide standards as well as department specific service standards.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Services, or related field required. Minimum 1 year of experience with progressive growth in leadership abilities and responsibilities required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Associates Degree in Business Administration, Health Services, or related field required. Minimum 3 years of experience with progressive growth in leadership abilities and responsibilities required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
In lieu of degree, minimum 5 years’ service industry experience with progressive growth in leadership abilities and responsibilities required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Minimum 6 months on the job to become familiar with all duties and responsibilities.
Certified as a C.H.E.S.T. (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician) by the Association for the Healthcare Environment of the American Hospital Association required within 18 months of their Supervisor start date, if not already certified.

Work is typically performed in an office, clinical or classroom environment.
Possesses the ability to stand for long periods as well as to walk long distances to perform inspections of both high and low items/areas.
Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a safe driving record required.
Travel within the health system is required for meetings and system functions.
