Janssen is currently recruiting for two Commercial Disease Area Strategy (DAS) Leaders, Vaccines.
The Commercial DAS Leaders will be accountable for leading Janssen Global Commercial Strategy in their respective vaccines’ areas. Core areas of responsibility include:
Co-lead the respective Vaccines Disease Area portfolio and pipeline strategy, together with R&D DAS Leaders, to accelerate Janssen global leadership
Lead matrixed, cross-functional teams to maximize the value of the respective Vaccines portfolio and pipeline
Partner across teams and geographies to ensure worldwide launch readiness for line extensions and for new product introductions
In partnership with R&D, develop, prioritize, and accelerate the early-mid stage pipeline, including delivering a new generation of therapeutic approaches
Partner with a team of global commercial and analytics professionals to develop deep commercial insights leading to differentiated gloabl commercial strategies and approaches
Partner with Business Development leaders to establish and execute an optimal Business Development strategy and provide commercial expertise to support licensing and acquisition activities, as well as novel industry partnerships
Identify transformational strategies and assets in select new spaces complimenting the current portfolio.
Partner with Market Access Colleages to lead and execute strategies for delivering value-based access across markets, including leadership in clinical and patient-reported outcomes
Partner wtih Medical Affairs colleagues to deliver competitively differentiated data generation and dissemination in support of the Janssen Infectious Disease and Vaccines portfolio and pipeline.
Lead global teams and collaborate with regional Presidents/Managing Directors to maximize current in-market assets worldwide. This includes, when required, partnering with PDMS and Janssen Supply Chain to ensure alignment and information transparency to secure stable supplies of products to meet clinical trial and commercial demand.
These roles will serve a critical leadership function on the GCSO Infectious Disease and Vaccines Leadership Team. The position reports directly to the Global Commercial Strategy Leader, Infectious Disease and Vaccines.
A minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical commercial or relevant experience is required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a strong track record of success in the following areas:
Leadership ability to successfully work across functional and geographic boundaries (preferably across multiple markets preferably across multiple countries or market access models) is required
Broad based commercial experience preferably managing Business Unit P&L with a consistent track record of delivering above-market results.
Proven strategic thinking and strategic marketing skills across product stages end-to-end, especially launch, life cycle management, business development, and portfolio strategy and management.
Vaccines launch experience is highly preferred, ideally in at least 1 major geography (US, EU, JP)
Knowledge of and demonstrated learning agility to acquire a basic understanding of, Infectious Disease and Vaccines science, and the ability to effectively influence portfolio strategies based on insights and foresights to future scientific direction in Infectious Disease and Vaccines.
A successful track record in leading and/or managing across multiple functions, such as marketing, market access, medical affairs, R&D, regulatory, and operations
Ability to operate globally and locally and effectively influence without direct-line reporting authority
Facility in leading teams to strong business and portfolio recommendations based on sound, insightful, qualitative and quantitative decision-making approaches and tools.
A minimum of Bachelor Degree in a relevant area is required. MBA or relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
