The Vice President, Facilities Management reports directly to the SVP Real Estate Services and provides oversight of the Facilities Management (FM) operations for BSWH. The role is responsible for clearly defining operational performance standards for the system, driving operational consistency across regions, ensuring healthcare-specific compliance excellence, and ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are met across the BSWH Enterprise. This position is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient management of all critical utility and support systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Responsible for designing and directing an effective Facilities Management organization (staff of approximately 400 full-time employees) to deliver agreed service levels within the prescribed budget. - Reviews hospital strategic plans with administrators and determines appropriate staffing levels to meet expectations. - Reviews operating budget reports for all properties. Creates action plans to improve operating cost and efficiencies. - Develops innovative and integrated programs across all FM systems to ensure consistency and efficiency and reliability - Drives change management across all FM systems to embrace technological and human solutions to optimize the patient experience in all delivery environments. - Manages negotiations for contract services in cooperation with purchase services. - Develops and reviews various facilities management reports for the purpose of improving service levels and reducing cost. - Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, rewarding performance and retention. - Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES - Experience with similar facilities preferred (large, complex, fragmented systems) - Demonstrated success in maintaining regulatory compliance with all FM related systems. - Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the complex documents. Ability to write reports, manuals, and articles using distinctive style. - Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. - Ability to analyze complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. - Ability to motivate and foster a “we are in it together” mentality amongst all trades/partners. - Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet/internet. - Working knowledge of architectural, electrical, and mechanical systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience - 7+ years of experience - Professional Engineer certification preferred - Master’s Degree preferred (MHA, MBA, etc)
