Job Summary

Job Duties

• Receives and processes information from patient service staff, production staff, diet office, fax, and/or phone related to patient meal service.
• Coordinates the activities of the patient service staff to ensure meal selections are completed within established timeframes.
• Coordinates dissemination of information from central diet office (tray tickets, tally reports, nourishment labels, and other required reports) and distributes this information to appropriate areas of the Foodservices Department.
• Uses program software and diet order change information provided by the diet office to coordinate tray assembly to ensure patient trays are correct and sent timely according to established procedures.
• Relieves Foodservice Workers within assigned area as needed to ensure the job is completed on time and meets standards.
• This may include but is not limited to serving on the patient units, calling patients for meal selections, portioning or serving food and/or beverages on the patient tray line or completing other duties related to patient meal service.
• Tracks floors stock sent to inpatient units and enters charges into the software program.
• Answers phones, records messages on appropriate forms and processes information.
• Works cooperatively with other personnel in a team effort to accomplish departmental objectives in accordance with hospital policy.
