Business Analysis/Planning Strategist

This position has core responsibilities in the planning, development, and implementation of the system-wide strategic plan, new clinical and administrative programs, and new business opportunities. Such core responsibilities require the ability to effectively perform analysis of internal and external environments, and assess the impact to the health system and community across many functional areas such as financial, operational, health services and outcomes, regulatory, etc. As the Business Analysis/Planning Strategist, you join a dynamic team that will interface with executive leaders and various leadership teams across the health system, becoming a trusted advisor and actively participating in their development of strategic plans, business plans, and related priorities for their respective areas of responsibility. In each of these areas (strategic planning, business development, service line/program enhancement) scope of responsibility ranges from ownership of a single project deliverable to discrete work streams within a complex engagement. (25%)* Directly participates in the development of comprehensive system-wide short-term and long-term strategies consistent with MidMichigan Health’s mission and strategy and assists in the implementation and continuous evaluation and refining of our strategies to ensure relevance in our evolving environment. (25%)* Lead business development projects and business plan implementation, including due diligence, monitoring and tracking project scope, budgets and timelines and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders. (10%)* Work collaboratively with service line leaders and teams, to consult and advise on strategic and market related issues, identify new business opportunities, and assist in the development and implementation of business plans. (10%)* Oversight responsibility for Certificate of Need (CON) filings and related financial projections in conjunction with the Strategic Planning/Business Development Analyst, including reviewing and providing feedback prior to filings. (5%)* Produce value analysis to assist executive leadership in evaluating partnership and merger/acquisition opportunities. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Takes ownership of own professional development through the creation of professional development plans in consultation with the Director. Adhoc projects and reports MidMichigan Health is a technology driven organization and employees need to demonstrate competency in Microsoft® Windows. Employees are required to take a Computer Skills Assessment via the learning management system upon hire. Based on the results of the assessment, an employee may be required to participate in further learning opportunities offered by MidMichigan Health. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS: * Master’s Degree in business or health care administration is required. May consider a Bachelor's degree with additional years of experience in lieu of a Master's Degree. * Certified Public Accountant Preferred * Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Health Care finance or operations required. Success candidates will have demonstrated capability in the following areas: · Healthcare industry knowledge (including terminology, trends, emerging technologies, etc.)· Strong critical thinking skills (able to “connect the dots” among various concepts when the connection is unclear).· Strong data analytical skills required to support multiple departments utilizing various databases.· Strong Business acumen (including market analysis, financial and operational modeling, due diligence, etc.).· Project management skills (including scoping, workplan development, and execution under a timeline).· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with employees from all levels within the organization.· Ability to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner to both individuals and groups.· Possess effective written and verbal presentation skills.· Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)training must be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan. |
