You Will Be Responsible For:
Manage the daily operations of the kitchen in regards to employee productivity and performance.
Works shifts in kitchen functions as needed to maintain budgeting.
Reviews department performance and institutes changes in techniques or procedures to improve services, simply workflow, assure compliance with regulatory requirements and promotes more efficient operation of the Food & Nutrition Department.
Manages all food & drink stations throughout the hospital and focuses on continuous improvement in these areas-i.e. Nutrition Room on MedSurg unit, coffee station in ED, etc.
Implement & constantly use accountability measures to increase efficiency, product quality, and teamwork.
Evaluate menus-both for patients as well as cafeteria and enhance the food quality by educating and implementing as much fresh product as possible.
Manage the operations of in-house catering events.
Continuously focus of food quality, presentation, & timing.
Implements training for staff to improve their culinary knowledge-i.e. knife skills, garnishing, food preparation, etc.
Implement innovative ways to enhance the patient/customer experience in regards to the Food & Nutrition department. Calculate measurable processes to show department performance.
Oversee & manage the staff to maintain a high standard of organization & cleanliness.
Focus on employee morale, work hand in hand with the staff providing continuous feedback and coaching.
Makes decisions regarding personnel and in conjunction with the leadership team is responsible for the hiring of new employees and disciplinary actions of current employees.
Focuses on Quality & Performance Improvement through measurable systems-timing of food, testing of quality, patient rounding for feedback, survey information. Calculates this information & shares with staff to know wins & misses.
Complete and document concerns with staff members in the appropriate fashion in following AdventHealth policies.
Assess efficiency of each position, modify job responsibilities if needed.
What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
3 Years of Position-Related Experience
Under the supervision of the Director the supervisor is obligatory for managing the daily activities of the Food & Nutrition department seamlessly. This role is responsible for improving the overall productivity, workflow, service, efficiency and quality of the department. This role will be holding staff accountable for their performance and manage the day to day operations of the department. This role should be focused on continuous improvement, be open minded and innovative, and take initiative to enhance the quality and service of the operation
