Work Hours/Shift: FT Monday- Friday 8 hour shifts ( Flexibility is a must) Shifts Varies from 4:30 am and on. Schedule varies due to the needs for department. * May be required to assist on weekends*
You Will Be Responsible For:
Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork
Responsible for the smooth operation of all laundry transportation. Ensures vehicles are on route and properly staffed each day at the beginning of his or her shift, personally driving laundry vehicles, or making schedule changes if needed.
Proactively supervises Laundry Drivers by resolving problems and addressing issues in a courteous and respectful manner. Uses discretion when discussing confidential information and never does so in front of other employees.
In coordination with the Logistics Manager, makes decisions regarding hiring, promotions and termination of employees. Conducts annual employee evaluations as well as new employee training and orientation.
Reviews tracking reports, works with Logistics Manager, determining best practices for staffing and route adjustments
Reviews accident and/or incident reports submitted by employees, ensuring all forms and paperwork are properly completed.
Must pass DOT Physical annually and attend defensive driving class every 3 years.
Adheres to all local and state traffic laws.
Performs other duties as assigned, to include adjusting one’s schedule of work if necessary for the continued safety or convenience of our guests and/or staff.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Good supervisory skills with ability to develop strategies to improve the department
Excellent intrapersonal skills with ability to communicate clearly in English, including reading and writing.
Solid MS Office skills with ability to create and analyze operations reports.
Ability to accept responsibility, exercise authority, maintain confidentiality, and function independently.
Excellent understanding of DOT regulations including applicable City or County transportation related laws.
Ability to pass DOT Physical, have good vision and hearing and be able to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to operate a semi tractor with a 27’ to 53’ trailer.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
3 years experience driving a semi tractor trailer.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Previous supervisory leadership
Previous commercial driving experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Valid Florida Commercial Drivers License (CDL) – Class “A” and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy.
