You Will Be Responsible For:

• Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy.
• General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, basic computer skills, e-mail and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to search the web for nutrition research or practice updates and apply knowledge to updating reference materials, preparing for presentations, education, etc.
• Avails self to staff on units as the nutrition expert.
• Performs Meal Test Trays 3 times per month (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
• Attends interdisciplinary meetings and rounds on assigned units as scheduled unless valid excuse demonstrated and MNT Manager and Unit RN Leader notified.
• Attends assigned team and/or committee meetings unless valid excuse demonstrated, and MNT Manager notified for alternate arrangements.
• Assists in regulatory survey preparation when applicable.
• Reviews and/or updates department resource/reference materials when applicable or required.
• When confronted with barriers to meeting patient care standards, improves process by planning and implementing action steps.
• Identifies specific patient or staff needs, initiates and development.

What You Will Need:

• Completes a minimum of a bachelor's degree at a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and course work approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND).
• Completes a CADE-accredited supervised practice program at a healthcare facility, community agency, or a foodservice corporation, or combined with undergraduate or graduate studies.
• 1 year experience in a clinical setting.
• Registered and Certified Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics; Florida Licensure.

Job Summary:

Works closely with the Interdisciplinary Health Care Team to provide medical nutrition therapy that is integrated and compatible with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives.
