Environmental Service Worker I (Bedford County Hospital Tuesday - Saturday Day Shift)

Role Summary:

The Environmental Service Worker cleans and services hospital areas. Moves furniture, equipment and supplies in and around hospital departments; and performs a variety of hospital duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.

Must be able to clean assigned areas using the appropriate cleaning solutions. Must be able to clean areas by washing walls, doors, equipment, ceiling vents, windows, furniture,, etc. Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets.

Clean patient rooms during the patient stay and after patient discharge. Handles trash, soiled linen amnd biohazard waste.

Must be able to work within a team environment that requires consistent and accurate communication. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. May be in contact with patients in a wide variety of circumstances. Able to handle emergency or crisis situations. Occasionally subject to irregular hours. May be required to wear protective equipment as necessary.

Must be flexible to work any days or hours. Must be a team player and effective communicator.
