This position is located within the uniforms and patient clothing section at the Lyons VA Medical Center in Lyons, NJ. The Laundry Worker performs one or a combination of housekeeping tasks necessary to keep the area clean, sanitary, and attractive. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Receives soiled patient clothing and employee uniforms from each campus. Inventories all finished patient clothing and employee uniforms by name using the laundry lists. Keeps records of each individual patient's laundry items being returned, by name, quantity, and type of garment. Using the Gains & Losses (G&L) sheet, keeps track of discharges, transfers, or movements of patients between wards to ensure delivery of laundry to proper location. Distributes clothing of discharged patients, and unmarked laundry to appropriate storage room. Makes up linen orders for various wards using Daily Linen quota lists. Responsible for daily housekeeping in assigned area. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am-3:30 pm Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized
