Free standing, multi-specialty ASC located in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. Medicare certified and AAAHC accreditation. Position reports to the Board of Managers of the surgery center. This is a full-time, senior management position with broad responsibility for the overall management, development, and operation of the surgery center. The position provides leadership, direction, and administration in all aspects of the Surgery Center’s activities to ensure accomplishment of the center’s goals and objectives. The position requires hands on participation in day-to-day operations and the performance of specific functions within the organization. PRINCIPLE DUTIES: 1. Directs, supervises, coordinates, performs specific functions and activities for the surgery center to include: Accounting, Data Processing, Finance, Information Systems, Human Resources, Marketing, Materials Management, Maintenance, Compliance, and other support services. 2. Directs and supervises all the Surgery Center’s activities through the Director of Nursing and administration support staff. 3. Responsible for selection, employment, development, and management of employees. 4. Responsible for Surgery Center’s personnel policies and procedures. 5. Promotes the provision of cost-effective, high quality healthcare services for the Surgery Center’s patients. 6. Reviews and negotiates contracts and commitments with vendors and payers. Coordinates with corporate attorney when necessary. Acts as liaison with corporate attorney and outside CPA firm to ensure appropriate laws and tax regulations are complied with. 7. Coordinates with medical and administrative staff to make sure compliance with standards and regulations. 8. Reviews operational problems/policies and recommends solutions and changes to the Board of Managers. 9. Oversees the facility’s safety and maintenance programs. 10. Coordinate’s efforts of the Medical Staff, Board and Administrative Staff in recruitment, development, evaluation, and the retention of medical personnel. 11. Responsible for the preparation and implementation of monthly financial statements and budgets. 12. Recommends Surgery Center facility improvement including, construction, renovation, and purchase of equipment. 13. Meets with the Board of Managers to review operations and other issues regarding the Surgery Center. 14. Participates on various Committees of the surgery center. 15. Recommends, develops, and updates strategic long-range plans to support the center’s philosophies and goals. 16. Informs the Board of Managers about current developments in the healthcare field to facilitate the Surgery Center’s policy making. 17. Develops and coordinates physician recruitment activities. 18. Develops and oversees all employee benefit programs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Five years management level experience in business including at least three years in healthcare. Experience managing an ASC is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nursing or Healthcare required. CPA, MBA, MHA, or BSN preferred. Significant communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
