How would you like to become a part of a team providing compassionate care to Veterans? This position is located in the Nutrition and Food Services Division at Clement J. Zablocki Medical Center. Major Duties: - Serves as the Food Production (Cook) Supervisor and is responsible for overseeing along with directing the total operation of food production. -Overseas the supervision of employees in the food production unit. -May relieve cook positions as deemed necessary by production requirements. -Organizes, coordinates and directs work activities of the Food Production Unit. -Calculates the estimated usage for subsistence orders submitted to Primary Vendor, for three weekly deliveries, to local vendors for biweekly deliveries of dairy, bread, and other orders. -Coordinates activities by establishing and monitoring the food production schedules within the framework of established policies, procedures and deadlines. -Monitors final product for attractiveness, portion size and optimum temperatures as well as overage, shortages, temperatures, and sanitation systems. -Achieves effective manpower management through effective utilization of position descriptions, performance standards, as well as time and duty schedules for all employees in the unit assigned. -Monitors the workplace for sanitation, safety, ergonomic problems, and proper equipment operation. -Inventory control of subsistence and expendable supplies. Completes administrative reports, assures accuracy of subsistence and expendable supply inventory. -Reviews procedures, task lists and performance requirements utilized in the Food Production Unit and submits recommendations for revisions NOTE: Candidate may be required to perform a one year supervisory probationary period.
