Full Time, Days
You Will Be Responsible For:
Respond promptly to all calls for emergency repairs. Available for on-call status. Takes care of any duty assignments that may arise due to emergency situation.
Repairs & maintains equipment in skilled trade area. Diagnosis & repair system malfunctions on HVAC equipment & systems.
Schedules & performs preventative maintenance according to procedure including but not limited to inspecting, calibrating, adjusting, lubricating, repairing & replacing. Performs & documents scheduled inspections, safety test, maintaining code compliance. Performs major overhauls & rebuilds.
Maintains complete & accurate records of all maintenance & repairs. Maintains records ensuring compliance with JCAHO, Federal, State & local regulations & standards.
Monitors work performed by outside contractors to insure requirements are met & results are documented properly. Reports any hazardous situations to appropriate personnel.
Keeps current on maintenance logs. Keeps current on new developments in air conditioning/refrigeration. Attends all departmental in-services as scheduled, actively plans & contributes to the department activities as requested.
Attends meetings for updates in chemical usage & equipment. Attends some form of schooling/seminars relating to air conditioning/refrigeration system aspects.
What You Will Need:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must maintain current knowledge base of equipment and demonstrate thorough understanding of industrial air conditioning/heating and refrigeration.
Should be able to read blueprints and electrical and control schematics.
Must have a high level of knowledge of building automation systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two year certification from college or technical school with three years of related experience, or five years job specific experience and training.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Two year certification from college or technical school
Universal EPA refrigerant license and/or certified in handling of all refrigerants and refrigerant recovery systems preferred.
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the HVAC Technician operates & maintains the facilities HVAC & refrigeration equipment and systems, in cooperation with all staff members in assisting with safe & effective patient care.
