The President, UPMC Williamsport & Chief Operating Officer (COO), UPMC North Central Pennsylvania Region is responsible for day-to-day operations and management of assigned hospital(s) and related business entities. In conjunction with the Regional President and the local executive team, the executive creates strategy, sets policy, and monitors status of the institution focusing on operations, finances, human resources, and key relationships with the Board, Medical Staff, community, and other stakeholders. The executive participates in local and regional efforts to exchange information and services and to develop cooperative relationships with other organizations, including healthcare providers, both within and outside UPMC. The executive designates an appropriate member of the executive staff to act on his/her behalf when he/she is absent or otherwise unable to fulfill duties and responsibilities. The executive reports to the Regional President. Direct reports include the regional CMO, regional CNO, regional essential services VP’s, and medical group COO.
Community and Industry Relations/Social Responsibility
Master's degree in business, health administration, or related area and 15 years of related experience preferred, with at least 5 years in senior leadership. Experience in a large matrixed health system as well as a Level II Trauma Center experience preferred.
Certified by the American College for Health Care Executives with reference for fellowship preferred.
