Memorial Sloan Kettering is searching for a Materials Coordinator for our Main Campus on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. This staff member will be involved with procurement and the ordering of supplies for surgery, working with nurse leaders, physicians, managers within the department to place orders and coordinate the delivers of supplies/equipment.
Obtain competitive quotes for supplies, instruments and capital equipment; this includes price, shipping charges, delivery dates, and payment terms, according to Hospital guidelines.
Place approved orders, verifying price and delivery dates
Identify alternate suppliers when delivery requirements cannot be met.
Track and expedites outstanding orders
Maintain a current list of all outstanding orders, and communicates status to appropriate personnel as needed
Prepare purchase orders for spot orders, special, orders and repairs.
Work with clinical and Perioperative Support Services personnel to determine and address supply and equipment needs
Advise Materials Manager of issues related to supplies and inventory; recommends solutions as necessary.
Work with multiple computer applications to perform data input, status queries and reporting.
Perform order confirmations on all generated orders whether electronic or manually placed
Follow-up on outstanding orders that exceed scheduled delivery date
Follow-up on all delivered special orders to ensure unused supplies are returned to vendors in a timely manner
Participate in Periop's annual Inventory Audit Review.
Strong with computer skills; specifically Excel (MS Office)
Strong with communication skills (this position entails heavy coordination with physicians and vendors)
Excellent at multitasking and have excellent time managementskills
At least 3 years of related experience
8 hour flexed shifts between 9am-8pm, Monday-Friday, with weekend coverage if needed
