The Retail Service Associate is responsible for assisting store leadership with daily operations such as training new volunteers, achieving sales goals, receiving and communicating special orders, inventory preparation and reconciliation, merchandising, reconciliation of all cash and cash equivalent items, and customer service. The retail service associate must have flexible work availability to accommodate store operations, special events, weekends and holidays.

• Work positively with staff, volunteers and vendors
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, maintain courteous and tactful communications when dealing with the internal staff and external customers, especially those that are challenging.
• Merchandising skills
• Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve issues for staff, volunteers, customers and vendors as appropriate.
• Works independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset
• Excellent people skills to train staff and volunteers
• Problem solver and ability deal with multiple competing demands

• High School diploma or G.E.D
• A minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
• Flexible schedule, willing to travel to different store locations or multiple locations in one day, including weekends and holidays
• LA City Fire card within 6 months of employment. (PHGS only)

Preferred:

• Training in retail customer service.
