Position Summary & MissionThe Outpatient Competency Restoration Program (OCRP) provides timely and effective outpatient competency restoration services to individuals determined by the court as not competent to stand trial and appropriate for community treatment. This program works closely with the Health Care Authority as well as DSHS Forensic Navigators. This position provides direct clinical services to clients including completion of intake assessments and provides MHP supervision to non-MHP members of the OCRP team. They also may coach and support non-MHP staff and may sign off on non-MHP documentation. Work involves a significant variety of non-routine tasks of moderate complexity which are guided by formal policies and general procedures. While this position has limited direct budgetary accountability, errors in work can have significant impact on customer service, clinical outcomes, and liability implications.Knowledge & Skills · Familiarity with the DSM-V and ability to apply diagnostic criteria· Knowledge of the major components of a mental status examination and competency in performing on-going assessments· Ability to develop and implement treatment strategies tailored to individual client needs· Knowledge of community resources· Ability to assess training needs of team members and provide the training and coaching when needed· Well-developed skills in managing time, priorities, and paperwork; excellent written and oral communication skills· Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and the ability to collaborate effectively with external partners· Understanding of the importance of clear, professional boundaries, and maintenance of such· Cultural competencyEducation and/or Experience Licensed Master's Level Therapist preferred and Mental Health Professional (MHP) as defined in WAC 246-341-0200, plus two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be eligible for a Washington State Department of Health Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration or other licensed mental health credential. Job ConditionsMust be able to drive a car; possess a good driving record; provide proof of auto insurance; be able to work both in and out of the office and go into clients' residences, which may require climbing stairs and walking on uneven terrain. Must be able to speak and hear at normal conversational levels. Must be able to pass the background check in order to be able to see clients in the Pierce County Jail.
