We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Vice President (VP) for Strategy and Growth for AdventHealth West Florida Division (WFD) located in Tampa.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The VP for Strategy and Growth works directly with the CEOs and the administrative teams of the assigned hospitals in the AH West Florida Division to support and implement the strategic planning process and identify strategic opportunities and strategic challenges for the assigned hospital/region; plays an integral role in providing the hospitals within the WFD with the tools and information needed to make long-range market decisions; manages complex management situations in a large healthcare system; works closely with hospital CEOs in the facilitating of annual Board/MEC retreats as well as executive and leadership retreats for the purpose of strategic planning. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plays a lead role in developing strategic plans to drive growth for the West Florida Division across both Acute Care Services (ACS) as well as AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) by providing strategic and planning support and direction.
Implements and supports the strategic planning process by provide concise and relevant information to senior leadership to assist in the development of the strategic plan.
Leads the process of developing hospital-wide strategies and updating the Business Plan to create growth and sustainable competitive advantage within all the imperatives: Engage the Consumer, Improve People Systems, Improve the Product, Expand the Network, Lower the Cost and Manage Risk.
Works to develop and grow targeted programs and services as well as monitors and understands any shifts in current volumes. Ensures each strategic initiative has a robust and complete business plan, which includes sound market data as well as a proforma.
Monitors and guides business development activities, including physician alignment opportunities that will assist in accomplishing quarterly accountabilities and well as service line goals.
Understands and remains current on market trends, competitor activity as well as threats and opportunities. Uses this information to assist in the planning process. Strategically identifies and evaluates market opportunities for future growth and locates new practice, ambulatory and ancillary sites for selection as well as physician alignment opportunities and new products and markets.
Responsible for the footprint of care through the lens of our consumer needs as well as competitive activity; examines infrastructure and logistics to ensure the value of the organization’s assets.
Supports physician planning, recruiting and strategy development in harmony with the Region’s strategic goals. Ensures that physicians being recruited to the market are needed by the community and support the hospital’s strategic direction.
Creates an environment that is conducive to the development of complementary growth strategies that result in strengthening the market position for the assigned hospitals. Assists hospital leadership in understanding their entire market and the impact they have on their competitors.
Continually brings national best practices and innovative business models, both within and outside of health care, and incorporate best practices into new business structures.
Serves as an executive leader in the organization, representing the strategic function to both internal and external stakeholders.
Exercises independent decision-making processes to identify, plan, and execute goals.
Evaluates the performance of employees ensuring that each has a development plan focused on professional growth and that each individual is positively contributing to the achievement of the overall department goals.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration or related field
A minimum of 10 years business experience in hospital administration, strategic planning, business planning, market research and financial planning, or similar area
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Master of Health Care Administration / Master of Business Administration with a health administration emphasis OR the combination of experience and relevant educational background is preferred.
