The role you’ll contribute:
The Sous Chef supports the operation in the production area by communicating and supporting the department’s goals and objectives and the mission and vision of the organization. Facilitate the provision of a safe work environment with adequate tools and resources, and serving the cooks and other nutrition staff within the department. Responsible for ensuring the cooks are providing safe and quality food including IDDSI compliance. Oversees hot/cold food preparation including accompaniments and garnishes according to specific diet requirements. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. All other duties assigned by Executive Chef and/or Director of Nutritional Services.

Prepares eye-appealing, tasty food items following preparation sheet and provided HACCP recipes for cafeteria, patient meals and special functions
Ensures all food preparation and assembling is done in accordance with established procedures
Completes advance preparation as needed
Completes food temperature and taste checks at each meal
Completes preparation records and stores food items properly at close of meal service
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum of a AS, AA Degree or Equivalent or four (4) years relevant culinary experience
ServSafe certified
