Atlantic Health System is seeking, a Director Health Equity to manage and support the work of the Atlantic Health System Equity Institute. Help implement an overarching enterprise strategy to promote and achieve health equity for all patients and communities in the AHS market region. This includes responsibility for developing, implementing, facilitating, and embedding health equity strategic initiatives into programs, services, actions, outcomes, and culture. Work with EVP, Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to provide strategic guidance to AHS Board of Trustees, CEO, executive vice presidents, and senior leadership on all health equity efforts integrating evidence-based practice and best practice standards for improving health and health care disparities. Establish the Atlantic Equity Institute as a national leader in advancing health equity. Work in partnership with the Chief Diversity Officer to further efforts for an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organization.
Responsibilities
As a leader for Atlantic Health System, The Director Equity Health will:
Work with EVP/CCO to develop the Atlantic Equity Institute (AEI) in alignment with system mission and goals to advance health equity. Develop comprehensive strategy to implement health equity driving principles across the enterprise
Cultivate external partnerships and new relationships to help leverage and support the work of AEI.
Serve as a health equity subject matter expert on various initiatives across the organization.
Collaborate with AHS leaders to collect and use data to drive efforts towards health equity. Advise on best practices for data collection, stratification, and reporting.
Partner with AHS leaders to develop culturally appropriate patient care processes and conditions.
Partner with AHS leaders to leverage community need assessments, community partnerships, and donor partnerships to further the goals of AEI.
Collaborate with AHS leaders to create equitable and inclusive organizational policies.
Create opportunities to leverage work of AEI to further AHS's academic and research missions.
Qualifications
Ability to engage with diverse staff and leadership to promote trust, collaboration, and partnership between departments and levels of leadership.
Exceptional leadership skills
Demonstrated track record in challenging and influencing peers to approach all work with an equity lens
Ability to develop and monitor indicators of organizational culture and engage employees and senior leadership to create organizational change.
Deep content knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness research base and best practices for organizations striving to become more diverse, equitable, and inclusive
Strong interpersonal skills: able to quickly establish credibility to develop and manage productive relationships with internal and external individuals and agencies.
Strong management expertise: able to manage multiple projects and to move quickly from one to another.
Ability to create/design adult learning and teaching of the content and skills associated with operating with an equity len
Clinical, patient-facing experience preferred
Master's Degree or higher preferred.
Minimum 5 years' experience advocating for and implementing change within a multi-cultural environment. Preferred.
Minimum 3 years' experience developing and implementing diversity/equity/inclusion programs. Preferred.
