Occupational Summary
Facilitate and manage the ongoing operations of the abdominal transplant programs for adult and pediatric patients including quality, service, fiscal and human resources processes and responsibility for compliance with policies, standards, and regulations set forth by regulatory agencies in order to ensure that comprehensive patient care services are being provided throughout the organization that supports the integrity of DUHS, our patients/families and the patient care team. This position will offer relocation package for right candidate.
Work Performed
Oversees the preparation of operating and capital budgets for the abdominal transplant programs in conjunction with the related end stage disease programs, pediatrics and other transplant support areas. Ensures the resolution of fiscal concerns, and monitors and responds to monthly budget reports. Prepare and assist with year-end capital and operational budgets. Assists with Managed Care contracting information.
Interviews, hires, counsels, evaluate and, if necessary, terminate subordinate personnel accordance with DUH and DUHS policies and procedures. Collaborates with Thoracic Administrative Director and Administrative Assistants to ensure training and ongoing growth and development of staff to promote outstanding performance. Collaborates with Transplant CSU leadership to ensure effective processes for staff recruitment and retention. Assures staff participation in departments caring for transplant patients and other organizational structures.
Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with physicians, other medical center departments, community organizations, and other health care facilities in order to gather and exchange information, develop and implement solutions to problems and to ensure growth of the program in collaboration with other administrative leadership. Develop strategic and operational plan for assigned transplant program(s); communicate plans and continuously evaluate plans.
Ensure CSU and program practices are in compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies. Oversees quality improvement activities for assigned programs, encouraging participation of all levels of staff.
Works closely with COD, administrative, and medical staff to assist in the development, implementation and administration of policies, procedures and projects to meet the agreed upon goals and objectives for assigned areas/program.
Maintain interface with Transplant Center Leadership to ensure adequate staffing, space and facilities, coordination of purchasing, maintenance, and renovation activities for the operational areas. Determine and recommend necessary space, equipment, supplies and support systems to ensure effective functioning of assigned areas. Ensure safe environment of care for all staff, patients, and families.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein as assigned by the Vice President of Transplant or Senior Leadership.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Transplant experience (heart &lung, abdominal preferred) required.
- Nursing background (BSN)/experience strongly preferred.
- Personnel management/ ability to lead a team
- Soft skills: integrity, transparency, value teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree preferred. RN Strongly preferred.
Experience: Work requires seven years of progressive administrative experience, generally in a hospital, health care or similar service industry to become proficient in managing quality of care and financial performance over assigned hospital service line. Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in transplant operations at the administrative leadership level highly preferred. A Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration or a related field may be substituted for experience on a 1:1 basis.
