The role you’ll contribute:
The Building Efficiency and Controls Specialist is a first responder for building automation issues that cannot easily be resolved by our Campus level staff. The primary responsibilities are to proactively reduce and minimize operational downtime, ensure patient and staff comfort levels, P.M. and calibrate key system hardware components and support energy reduction strategies. The prime focus would be preventive maintenance of our existing facilities building automation systems (BAS) while providing support to the Office of Design and Construction for new construction projects. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
*Coordinate with the Engineering, Property Management, Infection Prevention, Nursing/Clinical staff, MIS and Asset Management for service response.
*Lead deployment of emerging technologies like fault detection and diagnostic software, continual commissioning and dashboard data visualization systems.
*Liaison with BAS vendors, MEP design team and mechanical contractors.
*Support key AdventHealth BAS system users for more technical service issues and mentor those internal resources.
*Oversee expansion and retrofits of all existing BAS systems. Coordinate with vendors for BACnet panel network addressing schema to mitigate/eliminate network conflicts.
*Be the first line of response for BAS system failures. Troubleshoot BAS failures and/or operational anomalies. Replace failed controllers and end devices as needed. Diagnose the problem and attempt to repair prior to opening a work order for an outside vendor.
*Modify control programs to enhance patient and staff comfort levels while reducing energy consumption and increasing operational efficiency
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
·Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for building automation and related low voltage systems
·Strong knowledge of HVAC and related electrical systems – DX/refrigeration, Chilled Water, CEP, Boiler Plants, steam distribution, VAV, constant volume
·Strong working knowledge with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
·Strong I.T. knowledge base – networking, switching, routing etc.
·Capable of programming major HVAC systems – PASCAL, Fortran, Basic, C+ training, graphical programming language
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in energy management, building automation controls, mechanical systems startup and commissioning, construction and /or maintenance, or closely related field
·Experience with a major manufacture building automation control system. Core strength must be with JCI controls.
·Strong experience with more complex control strategies
·SQL and MSDE Database experience
·Web browser experience – Windows IIS, HTML, XML
LICENSURE, CERTIFIDATION, REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
·Florida Class “D” or “E” driver’s license and driving record in accordance with AdventHealth policy
