Qualifications
You will be responsible for:
Prepare attractive and palatable meals for therapeutic and regular diets in quantities dictated by the food production sheets.
Prepare food for patients, cafeteria, and special functions, using creativity and advanced culinary skills.
Use Advanced Culinary Skills to develop a training program to assist with the training of other cooks in the department to enhance their skills in food production and service.
Maintain sanitary conditions of Kitchen, worktables and other equipment used in the performance of duties; record temperatures appropriately.
Make estimates relative to quantities of food required weekly. Make suggestions for changes in patients and cafeteria menus entrée choices to improve customer satisfaction.
Assist in putting up stock and maintain rotation of stock, keep storage areas organized and sanitary, with all foods labeled and dated.
Check menus for the following day and pulls foods as needed.
Any other tasks as assigned by Director.
Assist with the management of the department in the absent of the Director.
Communicate with Director and other staff to ensure overall organizational needs are met
What will you need?
1 year of food service experience
Basic math skills
The ability to read and write in English
Follow oral and written instructions in English
Use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
Food service knowledge
Institutional food service knowledge preferred
1 year institutional food service experience preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Some culinary education is desirable, but not required preferred
