Pay & Benefits:
- Compensation: $36.44 to $58.30 hourly wage based on experience and education

This position is responsible for providing Informatics expertise and resources for a facility or specialty area. As a resource, this position provides on-going user training and informatics support for various teams and committees. This position supports the organization's vision and direction for computer systems, process design, data management and related processes. The informatics coordinator serves as a liaison between the facility or specialty area clinical support staff and the Clinical Information System IT team to communicate user needs and facilitate system modification to meet user needs.
Responsibilities
Provides decision support. Develops, coordinates, facilitates, and plans on-going information system evaluation including: user accuracy, data integrity, and system reliability to support decisions and coordinate outcomes. Provides application testing for system enhancements. Participates in post implementation change evaluation, and develops and implements action plans and supports users in maintaining changed work flow and technological processes. Coordinates with IT regarding downtime.Collaborates with education team to develop and improve training materials related to changes and upgrades in the existing EMR (electronic medical record) and clinical application systems. Develops and implements communication and education plan in conjunction with clinical educators and management for current staff to assure changes to the EMR are implemented accordingly. Provides clinical application system training and support.Maintains on-going user communication and support to assure user competency. Obtains information on usage of the system and workflow concerns through established, regularly scheduled rounds in the facility. Collaborates with end-users, account managers, physicians and clinicians to help define health care information issues and enhancement opportunities. Identifies methodologies for implementing, utilizing and modifying informatics solutions and data structures in order to support health care access, delivery, and evaluation. Provides consultation and project support in conjunction with project leadership for the deployment of new IT clinical applications.Maintains on-going user support structure by identifying super users and maintaining a trained and engaged core user group. Plans and provides regular meetings with super users to identify issues as well as educate to improve knowledge transfers in the clinical setting. May conduct regular focus meetings that provide opportunities for end users to verbalize concerns and suggest potential improvements related to the use of the information systems. Collaborates with users, leadership, and IT department to resolve conflicts between workflow and the information systems. Promotes maintenance of patient safety and confidentiality, and supports facility-specific and system-wide processes and principles.Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in the field of Healthcare Informatics, as well as new developments in computer hardware and software technology. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory standards, and organizational direction. Utilizes this knowledge in supporting users and process teams.Participates in facility and system interdisciplinary process improvement teams to identify potential future uses of the information systems and potential improvements in the current use of the systems. Follows through with assigned tasks for issues resolution.Develops and evaluates the effectiveness of communication tools and processes. Regularly updates supervisor regarding current status, issues and trends related to the use of clinical information systems. Immediately escalates critical issues to leadership. Maintains a line of communication to all users of clinical information systems. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
Qualifications
Must possess diverse clinical knowledge and technology aptitude as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent related experience.
The incumbent will be a Registered Nurse (R.N.) with licensure in practicing state.
Must be proficient in the use of system office applications. Must possess a basic understanding of integrated clinical systems. Must have highly developed interpersonal and critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize needs rapidly. This position requires the ability to convey messages and thoughts clearly to a diverse audience, using both verbal and written mediums. Requires the ability to promote change among large groups of workers. Requires the ability to coordinate information and activities, work under stress of deadlines and frequent interruptions, and to possess analytical problem solving skills. Requires the maintenance of familiarity with clinical care processes and information technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Certification in Nursing Informatics preferred.
