POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides leadership and vision for the department and is responsible for the oversight of the Production Services Department, ensuring quality materials are produced in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner in support of the association’s strategic plan. This position is responsible for the effective management of the inventory of association resources as well as the preparation, shipping, and on-site distribution of materials to members and programs. This position is responsible for the oversight of the D.C. office management function, the Saint Louis facility, and related risk management. This position oversees the Association’s archiving functions, ensuring the preservation and accessibility of organizational records. This position co-manages CHA’s efforts to be a sustainable organization. Some travel may be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Direct and coordinate the daily operations and processes of the production services department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of output. Coordinate and manage workflow and product development for the association with internal and external customers; create, update, and manage inventory levels and product records as applicable, and act as needed
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast and plan for upcoming production needs based on organizational goals and strategies.
Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets, and oversee adherence to them
Research and file copyright requests; assign ISBNs; maintain product records
Remain current on all equipment for set-up and operating as necessary to meet the specifications of required jobs
Responsible for the department’s compliance with the association’s safety rules, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements. Provide training, solve technical problems, and maintain preventive maintenance programs relating to the operation of equipment and processes
Evaluate, recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency
Develop, coordinate, and maintain standard operating procedure documentation for areas of responsibility and for the production services department
Oversee and coordinate maintenance of the St. Louis building, grounds, and equipment; manage and coordinate office moves, new construction, and alterations; coordinate building security protocols
Safety and Emergency Management: Coordinate the development, implementation, and execution of applicable safety and emergency management procedures for the STL office
Environment Sustainability: Lead the Saint Louis Office in reducing CHA’s carbon footprint and becoming a sustainable organization.
Provides oversight for the smooth and efficient operation of the D.C. Office by providing leadership and oversight to the Office Manager.
Provides oversight for the management and preservation of CHA’s historical records and documents, ensuring their long-term accessibility and integrity by leading and supervising the Archivist.
HOME OFFICE LOCATION St. Louis, MO, with the ability to work from home subject to CHA’s policies on flexible work arrangements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 5 to 7 years of Print Shop experience. Experience should include all aspects of a print shop’s operations, including production, quality control, scheduling, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and maintaining equipment. Must be able to demonstrate supervisory competency with preferred 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience. Experience with facility or property management is desired. Experience in budgeting, purchasing, and leasing.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability: Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the entire printing process, from initial design to final product. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance. Strong contract negotiation skills. Strong planning, scheduling, and reporting skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Good time management and project management skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills.
