Introduction
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented market access and value communications specialist to join our Market Access team, specializing in Payer Access Marketing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare reimbursement landscape—including payers, PBMs, IDNs, and specialty pharmacies—and proven expertise in medical writing and promotional copy development.
The specialist will translate complex clinical and economic data into clear, compelling messaging that supports payer and market access strategies. This role requires conceptual and storytelling skills, knowledge of FDA and regulatory requirements, and the ability to align content with brand and value communication goals.
As a creative and strategic leader, the specialist will oversee the development of high-quality, compliant content across payer-focused deliverables such as value proposition decks, AMCP dossiers, and formulary kits, while mentoring junior writers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure excellence and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Copywriting & Strategy: Develop and oversee high-quality, compliant, and engaging copy for payer and market access materials, including value proposition decks, AMCP dossiers, formulary kits, and leave-behinds.
Message Development: Translate complex clinical, economic, and HEOR data into persuasive, payer-relevant messaging that drives brand and access objectives.
Research & Insight Integration: Identify and synthesize data and literature to strengthen strategic messaging and value story development.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior writers, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality across all deliverables.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with art, strategy, account, medical, and regulatory teams to deliver cohesive, compliant, and effective creative solutions.
Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workload, and ensure timely delivery of all content.
Client Engagement: Present creative concepts, provide strategic writing leadership, and build strong client relationships as a trusted subject matter expert.
Regulatory Excellence: Ensure all materials meet FDA/OPDP and industry standards, maintaining accuracy, compliance, and alignment with brand strategy.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in pharmaceutical or healthcare copywriting, with specific experience in market access, payer, or managed markets communications.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare reimbursement ecosystem, including payers, PBMs, IDNs, and specialty pharmacies.
Technical Expertise: - Skilled at translating complex clinical, economic, and HEOR data into clear and compelling value-based messaging. - Familiarity with AMCP dossier structure, MLR review processes, and referencing tools such as Veeva Vault. - Proficient in AMA style and current on FDA/OPDP guidelines.
Creative & Strategic Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling ability with a talent for simplifying technical information for payer and healthcare audiences.
Leadership & Collaboration: Proven success mentoring writers, managing multiple projects, and working cross-functionally to achieve strategic and creative alignment.
Client-Facing Strength: Confident and persuasive communicator capable of leading presentations and building strong client relationships.
